The Asheville Zombiewalk is celebrating their 10th year by spreading the zombie infection for good, not evil. The living dead will gather in Pack Square Park in downtown Asheville, NC on Sunday, October 11, 2015, beginning at 5:00 pm.
“To celebrate our tenth birthday, we’re collecting last year’s gently used kids and teen Halloween costumes. All will be donated to Eliada Homes in Asheville for children in need,” said event organizer (and SML Head Monster) Sarah Giavedoni. “We welcome everyone to go into your closets, find those costumes your children will never wear again, and give them new life.”
The Asheville Zombiewalk is committed to remaining free for zombie lovers of all ages. This year’s activities include a costume parade and contest, an Asheville rendition of the “Thriller” dance, and scavenger hunt. Attendee zombies are also encouraged to bring a few extra dollars for food trucks, the green screen photo booth, or to have makeup done at the event.
“If you love and support zombies, you don’t want to miss this year’s event. This is our opportunity to celebrate 10 years of undead fun,” said Giavedoni.
The Asheville Zombiewalk requests all participants to please be safe, use common sense, and avoid illegal activities during the walk. It’s fun, it’s a spectacle, but the law still applies to all walkers.
