Did you not know that you have another mother?
Of course you do. Everyone does.
She spies on your lives through a little doll’s eyes to see if you are unhappy. If you are, she will offer you treasures and treats and little games to play—everything you need from an other mother.
And if you still want more than that—if you just cannot go back to your real mother, who works all day and has no time to play—your other mother can give you more.
But you have to give your other mother something in return.
No breakfast in bed. No Other-Mother’s Day cards. No gifts wrapped neatly with little polka-dotted bows.
Your other mother wants something much more simple, and yet much more meaningful.
She wants you to let her sew the buttons.
And eat up your lives.
