Like any great craftsman or utility worker, monsters use tools for just about every project. And each project requires a different set of tools to complete.
Setting booby traps in the woods requires saws, axes, and lots of rope. And maybe some barbed wire, for effect.
Disabling your car engine, so you get stuck in the woods in the first place, requires a nice set of socket wrenches, a flashlight, and some wire cutters. Or at least a sledgehammer.
And finally, in order to skin you alive in the abandoned barn you come across after your buddy suggests a “shortcut” to town, any monster worth his salt needs a complete set of surgical instruments, including any manner of scalpels, clamps, forceps, scissors, and shears. And perhaps a few butchers hooks, just in case you’re squirmy.
But all these tools have one thing in common: they need to be portable. A monster on the go needs a great tool box in order to be ready at a moment’s notice and get the job done right.
