The SML Monstey Award is a prestigious accolade presented annually each Spring to those unlucky enough to receive our attentions. Awards are presented to “celebrities” – real or imagined – who the SML minions believe are worthy of recognition for their contributions to horror film and horrible culture.
The first Monstey Awards were presented informally after the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805, when Davie Jones commended his most valiant kraken for his victories against the French navy.
This year, the SML Monstey Awards date falls on Friday the 13th – and we couldn’t be more proud to announce the recipients.
The 2012 Monstey Awards winners are:
John Goodman
Best Pre-Fame Cameo – C.H.U.D.
Perez Hilton
I Bet He Didn’t Put This on His Resume – Campfire Stories
Marni Kotak
People Who Gross Out Even Us – Live “Performance Art” Birth
Gentry Lee Sutherland and Jacob Simmons
Dubious Human Achievement Award – Jesus on a Wal-Mart Receipt
